SAVANNAH – Ruth Foy Fender, 78, died Monday, January 20, 2014 in Savannah.
A native and lifelong resident of Savannah, Mrs. Fender was a longtime member of Faith Primitive Baptist Church. She was active in the Faith Fellowship Circle and sang in the Church Choir.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy F. Martin and her husband, Mike; her son, Ben Fender and his wife Kearney; and two grandsons, Robert and Joseph Fender. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert B. Fender, and her parents, Harry A. and Eunice DeLoach Foy.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Faith Primitive Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Faith Primitive Baptist Church, 3212 Bee Rd., Savannah, GA 31404 or the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion, 225 Candler Dr., Savannah, GA 31405.
